The Car Boot is one of only a few Traditional ones where you can really enjoy a friendly, peaceful day in the countryside at a venue that has so much for everyone to see and do. So why not come and have a great day out at Suffolk's friendliest Sunday Car Boot. Earlyrisers can get there for 7am but the sensible ones turn up from 8am.
Make sure you turn up & sell from Five Pounds.Covered stalls are Ten Pounds (Let me know ASAP if you want one by texting 07817539168 to reserve NOW – you can book any Sunday at any point). We also have the additional bonus of regular events that run at the same time as the Car Boot so check the link so you can sell to the extra crowds. Stonham Barns Car Boot is still the one to go to if you want a completely stress-free day without the buyers climbing into the back of your car We have had 150 sellers on some weeks last year and we are lucky to have buyers that actually buy. Stonham is known for its one-off sellers and Antiques (as well as all the normal Car Boot items) and in our Sixth year we are getting a good regular crowd of sellers and buyers. Goat Yoga on the Homestead
Come to ZiegenVine Homestead, LLC, in the scenic Finger Lakes region of New York State, to experience Goat Yoga! Certified yoga instructors lead us through an approximate 45 minute long blended style yoga session as our herd: Cora, Millie, Macey and their kids romp around, eat some weeds and probably lay down and watch what is going on around them. (they like to cuddle too!)
The hour and a half time frame includes approximately 45 minute to 1 hour long yoga work with plenty of time to mingle with the goats.
Do you have to do yoga? Uhm no- but maybe give it a try! All levels of yoga practioners welcome - from never done yoga before to life long yogi's!
We are conveniently located just 15 minutes from Corning, 22 miles from Watkins Glen, 14 mile from Hammondsport, 40 minutes from Elmira, 2 hours from Buffalo, 1.5 hours from Rochester, 1 hour from Ithaca, 4.5 hours from NYC- No matter which direction you are coming from it is a scenic drive!
#CorningFLX #SteubenCoNY #FingerLakes #GetOutside
Have you heard about Goat Yoga?
If you haven't heard about it - do a quick Google search to see what its about!
Q. Are there refunds or make-ups for classes?
A. There are no refunds unless the class gets cancelled by us- in case of rain we will have class in the barn! (it gets vacuumed regularly and we limit the class size so we can comfortably fit)
Q. Can I transfer my ticket to another person or another date? Can I check in without my ticket? Do I need to print out my ticket? Can I resell my ticket?
A Yes- you can transfer your registration to another person. No- you cannot transfer your ticket to another date. You don't have to print your ticket- just make sure you have a screen shot of the QR-code. You cannot resell your ticket.
Q. Are spectators allowed at Yoga on the Homestead (with Goats!!!)?
A. No... While we understand that many people come to yoga on the homestead (with goats) and don't want to do yoga. You still need to pay for the class, we have a limited amount of space for the class. You can also contact the farm about coming for a farm visit- we love sharing our farming adventure with everyone. Also- if you want to volunteer for an afternoon of farm chores- we would gladly schedule some time for you. :) Please be considerate of others - think about how awkward it is to have complete strangers standing around watch you do yoga.
Q. Are there any bathrooms?
A. There is an outdoor bathroom with a flushing toilet - near the yoga area.
Q. What if it rains?
A. We have a wonderful barn that has plenty of room for yoga and goats!
Q. What kind of goats are they?
A. We have a blended herd of Boer, Nubian, Alpine and Toggenberg. They are a full size goats and can weight as much as 150 lbs. The kids are much smaller but do grow quickly.
Q. Can we pick them up?
A. There is a very specific way to pick up a goat so we would prefer you not to. If you want to hold a baby goat, just ask and we will gladly assist you.
Q. Do you milk the goats?
A. Yes for the first few weeks we let the kids get all the nutrients they need from their Momma’s. We use the goat milk to make our goat milk soap and to feed other animals on the farm. As we are not a dairy- we are not able to sell you raw goat milk.
Q. What about the goat poo?
A. Yes, goats do poo! The sessions are held in a grassy field (not in the goat pen) so any poop becomes part of the Earth and you'll barely notice it! They have been known to drop a few pellets on a mat or even to pee on a mat- we are prepared to handle that situation with disinfecting wipes. When inside the barn- we are working on a "waving" system to clean up after the goats.
Q. What happens in a typical Goat Yoga class?
You will learn about the goats and the farm. We start with a a warmup appropriate for all levels. Move on to a blended yoga style and end with a reflection session. We welcome questions about the goats, farm and yoga.
Q. How do we find the pictures from our class?
A. Photos are posted to the farms social media channels. Look for the links at the bottom of the page.
Q. Can we just come and pet the goats without yoga? I don't really do yoga.
A. Yoga with goats is a very casual fun environment. You are welcome to just sit, meditate and pet the goats but you do have to still sign up for a class & pay for registration. We will be offering a "social hour" with the goats thorughout the fall and winter! Look for more scheduling information on our website
Q. All of your classes are full and I really want to come, should I call and email you a bunch of times until I get in?
A. No. Just see if you can find another class to come to. We can work with you to schedule a special session.
Q. How long is class?
A. Each class is a hour and a half with approximately 45 minutes to one hour of yoga. People are welcome to stay after to take pictures and mingle with goats! The goats do get tired may decide they are done by wandering back to their pen.
Q. Are children permitted in classes?
A. For the safety of the child we require them to be 8 years old and comfortable around animals. They should be able to make it through a fun yoga class and not wander around. The goats do not discriminate who they jump on. You need to buy your child a ticket to class. Children 8-15 need to have a parent in class with them. Look for Kids Yoga with the kids on the schedule.
Q. How do I sign up for a class?
A. Click on the tab "Sign up for classes". Then click on the calendar at the bottom of the page on the date you want to come to class. Then click on "Register Now". You will be directed to Eventbrite and pay by credit card for your class.
Q. Do you have yoga mats we can use, we are are coming in from out of town?
A. We have a limited number of yoga mats available. You can reserve one of these mats when you make your reservation.
Q. What should I wear ?
A. You may wear whatever you want to goat yoga. Some people wear yoga gear others wear jeans- just check the weather before heading to the homestead and dress in layers if necessary.
Q. Do you offer private or corporate classes?
A. Yes- please call 607-207-5730 to discuss your needs. Girls day? Bachelorette yoga? Corporate team building? Give us a call!
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
You can contact Allison or Randy at [email protected] or call Allison at 607-207-5730- if you don't get an answer- leave a message and we will be sure to call you back.
Things to note:
This event involves live animals. Please remember to wash your hands before and after with soap! :)
In case of rain- we will move the session into the barn. No Refunds, unless class is cancelled.
