 Kizomba Public Monday could be your first time or your first time in a long time. : ) Mondays in The Great Room at Union Station Hartford 6-8pm; a free, weekly, community event by Kizomba Hartford. We are excited to continue this program in 2017.    It started back on November 11, 2015, when Kizomba Hartford celebrated the the 40th Anniversary of Independence of Angola at the Union Station Great Room. On that day, Kizomba Hartford was awarded a Citation by the Office of the Mayor of the City of Hartford for being Kizomba Ambassadors! Also, 11.11.15 was proclaimed "Angolan Kizomba Day" in the City of Hartford by Mayor Pedro Segarra. In the summer of 2015, Kizomba Hartford hosted its first Mobbinmeetup at the Hartford Riverfront. Dancing Kizomba anywhere is a stimulating experience. Dancing outdoors in the summer breeze by the water was anespecially a fascinating experience because we engaged the public in an art form that they had never seen before.  We followed up in fall with an outdoor Mobbin Meetup at Elizabeth park at Sunrise Outlook. Feel free to come early and eat beforehand, or you are welcome to stay after and enjoy some eats.  Where do I park? There is plenty of parking available on the side streets that is free after 6 pm. What do I need to bring? An open-mind and positive energy.  What if I'm not an artist or creative person? No such thing. We believe everyone has an innate ability to create; for some people it just takes a little more practice than others, or, more time to find the right creative outlet. That is why we offer all different creative workshops that teach and highlight varieties of skills. "Every child is an artist. The problem is how we remain an artist once we grow up." - Pablo Picasso   What if I haven't done art or a craft since Kindergarten?  No problem. Our workshop was created for people with all levels of artistic abilities. Whether you've never picked up a paint brush or create on a regular basis, you can always learn and develop new skills from our creative workshops!  Who will be teaching the workshop? Your primary facilitator will be Kat. An artist since she could pick up a crayon, Kathryn has an abundance of experience in many different creative endeavours, as well as previous studies at the Alberta College of Art and Design. Creation is an active part of her daily life and she is always seeking out new avenues for expression. Your other facilitator will be Sarah. She is a Bachelor of Design graduate from the Alberta College of Art and Design and currently works in the industry as a graphic designer. She too has a love for a variety of artistic methods and makes creativity a priority in her life. Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? No. We will check you in by last name through our fancy Eventbrite app! (Ooohhh Ahhhhh) What is the refund policy?
